I’m starting to feel right now that there’s just too much great music happening in the world and not enough people to hear it. In an effort to spread the word a little and turn some of y’ll onto some good stuff, I’m gonna start posting a couple of links here and there amongst the photos I put up on this site. Also wanna pad out the content and blog more regularly than my gig calendar allows – all this damn snow is making it hard to get outside…

So to begin with, here’s the wonderful Total Babe from Minneapolis. Still in their teens, they play a breathless and folksy kinda music that reminds me a little bit of Lush without the overtly English Mikki Berenyi vocal. Very mature songwriting though – check out Bearbones and Shape Up on their myspace site. The former track has an almost Scandinavian dimension to the vocals. Which I like, of course…
